A la imagen de Dios…
La Biblia es lo suficientemente clara para que comprendamos todos
–creyentes y ateos- que el hombre fue creado a imagen y semejanza de Dios’
La Biblia dice:
“Entonces dijo Dios: Hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen,
conforme a nuestra semejanza; y señoree en los peces del mar,
en las aves de los cielos, en las bestias, en toda la tierra,
y en todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra.
Y creó Dios al hombre a su imagen, a imagen de Dios lo creó;
varón y hembra los creó. Y los bendijo Dios…” (Gen 1:26-28)
Cada vez que veo esta estuatilla creada por “el dad Weissinger” pienso
que hubo un momento en que él se detuvo para imaginársela ya terminada y salió a
buscar la pieza de madera que reuniría las condiciones adecuadas para realizar
la obra de aquello que él se hubo propuesto hacer. Sin duda, buscó también las
herramientas adecuadas y el lugar
preciso para que hoy nosotros podamos tener esta pieza acá y admirarla.
Si deseamos crear algo, es menester tener en nuestra mente, claramente
definida la imagen de aquello que no siendo aún, llegará a ser.
¿Cuánto más Dios con Ud. o conmigo? Cada vez que me miro al espejo
pienso que soy el resultado de un plan perfecto –eso no quiere decir que yo
luzca perfecto- pero Dios así me quiso hacer para cumplir en mi y a través mío
un propósito eterno. Oigamos lo que la Palabra de Dios dice:
“Tus manos me hicieron y me formaron…
Acuérdate que como a barro me diste forma…
¿No me vaciaste y como queso me cuajaste?…
Me vestiste de piel y carne
y me tejiste con huesos y nervios…
Vida y misericordia me concediste,
Y tu cuidado guardó mi espíritu…” (Job 10)
“Porque tu formaste mis entrañas;
Tu me hiciste en el vientre de mi madre,
Te alabaré; porque formidables, maravillosas
son tus obras; estoy maravillado,
y mi alma lo sabe muy bien.
No fue encubierto de ti mi cuerpo,
Bien que en lo oculto fui formado,
Y entretejido en lo más profundo de la tierra.
Mi embrión vieron tus ojos,
Y en tu libro estaban escritas todas aquellas cosas
Que luego fueron formadas, sin faltar una de ellas...” (Sal 139)
No hay uno solo de nosotros aquí que haya venido al mundo de diferente
forma. Todos somos producto de la intervención del “Único y sabio Dios, inmortal,
invisible…” y llegamos con un propósito divino individual. Pero lo que
es de gran valor es el hecho de que estuvimos en la mente de Dios desde antes
del principio del tiempo y para un fin muy particular. Esto me lleva a pensar
que no tengo que parecerme a nadie ni que mi tarea o responsabilidad es de
menor importancia que la de mi vecino o prójimo.
A imagen de Dios hemos sido hechos todos desde antes del principio del
tiempo y con un propósito divino; a fin de que Su gloria fuese manifiesta a
través de cada uno de nosotros. Empero, un día en Adán la humanidad le falló a
Dios y la triste tragedia la hallamos descrita en el 3er. Capítulo de Génesis –
reconocido como “la caída” mediante la cual el hombre se esconde de su Dios,
Padre y Creador y se establece enemistad entre Dios y toda su creación, por
razón del pecado.
En Adán, todos pecamos y la Biblia dice: “por cuanto todos pecaron, y
están destituidos de la gloria de Dios…” (Rom 3:23) y no existe forma
de categorizar al pecador. No hay pecadores peores que otros. Les doy un
ejemplo sencillo: si la máxima velocidad en una carretera es de 65 Km/hra y yo
voy a 68, estoy infringiendo la ley de igual manera que el que me acaba de
pasar a 120 Km/hra.
Nos descarriamos como ovejas sin pastor; perdimos el rumbo que Dios
había marcado para la humanidad y no tomamos en consideración el costo
implicado al desviarnos de Su perfecto plan.
Esta es la tragedia de la humanidad actual; hemos considerado que
estamos en capacidad de crear un nuevo propósito, rediseñar el plan, hacer un
poco de reingeniería y como somos inteligentes –casi todos- estamos convencidos
que sabemos más que nuestro Creador y tal vez, si nos va bien, tendremos suerte
y experimentaremos el éxito. ¿Y Dios? Pues… si te vi, no me acuerdo.
Created in His image (Rom 8:28 & 29) - Part 2
In God’s image…
The Bible is clear
enough for us to understand -believers and non believers- that man was created
in the image and likeness of God.
The Bible says:
“Then God said, “Let
us make mankind in our image,
in our likeness, so
that they may rule over the fish in the sea
and the birds in the
sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,
and over all the
creatures that move along the ground. So God created
mankind in his own
image, in the image of God he created them;
male and female he
created them. God blessed them…” (Gen 1:26-28)
Every time I see this
statuette created by “Dad Weissinger”, I think there was a moment when he
stopped to imagine it completed and went out to find the piece of wood that meets
the conditions for carrying out the work of what he had proposed to do. Without
any doubt, he also looked for the right tools and the right place so we can
have the piece and admire it.
If we desire to
create something, me must keep in our mind, clearly defined, the image of what
is not being even, it will become.
How much more God is
with you or me? Every time that I look in the mirror, I think I’m the result of
a perfect plan –That doesn’t mean I look perfect- but God made this way to
fulfill in me an thru me an eternal purpose. Let’s hear what the Word of God
says:
“Your hands shaped me
and made me…
Remember that you
molded me like clay…
Did you not pour me
out like milk
and curdle me like
cheese clothe me with skin and flesh
and knit me together
with bones and sinews?…
You gave me life and
showed me kindness,
and in your providence watched over my spirit” (Job 10)
and in your providence watched over my spirit” (Job 10)
“For you created my
inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be…” (Sal 139)

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

There is not one of
us who have come to the world differently. We are all a product of the
intervention of the “Only and Wise God,
immortal, invisible…” and came with individual divine purpose. But what is
of great value is the fact that we were in the God’s mind before the beginning
of time and for a very particular task. This leads me to think that I don’t
need to be like anyone else or that my job or responsibility is of less
importance than my neighbors.
In God’s image we
have all being created before the beginning of time and with a divine purpose;
so His glory was manifested through each one of us. But, one day humanity in
Adam failed to God and the sad tragedy we find described in Genesis chapter 3 –
known as “the fall” through which man hides from his God, Father and Creator,
and set enmity between God and all His creation, for sin.
In Adam, we all sin
and the Bible says: “for all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God…” (Rom 3:23) and there is no way to categorize the sinner.
There are no sinners worse than others. I give a simple example: if the maximum
speed on a highway is 40 mph and my speed is 42 mph, I’m breaking the law the
same way that the one who passed me at 75 mph.
We are lost just like
sheep without a shepherd; we lost the direction that God had marked for and we don’t
take in consideration the cost involved to deviate from His perfect plan.
This is the tragedy
of humanity today; we have considered that we are able to create a new purpose,
redesign the plan, do some reengineering and since we are intelligent – almost all-
we believe we know better than our Creator and maybe, if we do well, we will be
lucky and experience the success. ¿What about God? Well…if I saw you, I don’t
remember.
